Job Description

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) are advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) who provide anesthesia and pain management services before, during, and after surgical, therapeutic, diagnostic, and obstetrical procedures. They also provide emergency services, such as airway management. CRNAs work in a variety of settings including hospitals, outpatient surgical centers, and in the offices of dentists, podiatrists, ophthalmologists, and plastic surgeons. They play a critical role in ensuring safe and effective anesthesia care, working independently or in collaboration with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals.
